This is probably the best solution to the Althouse Refugees and Right-Wing Squatters problem. An actual blog run by someone/s that want to do daily posts. I would be willing to create a blog post a day to get it going, and I would even be willing to police the comments as long as we can all reach an agreement on standards. As most know, my philosophy is that such censorship should mostly be very, very light, but would be willing to work on collective rules.
I prefer the look of blogger over discord--and that not in a trivial degree; it's a yuuuuge minus for discord -- but most everything else about discord is better, including:
* you have to actually sign in and be admitted to the group (no more MEG or Chucksters)
* THREADED replies, which are an adequate solution for the problem for which nested replies are a disastrous one
* auto-generating html links when the content has a URL in it (this is a double-edged sword, though)
Testing Comments. I can't comment about the sunrise because it is still an hour or so off here.
ReplyDeleteTesting reply function. Checking for nesting.
DeleteVery cool.
DeleteNesting one level deep, better than nothing.
DeleteNesting one level deep, not as bad as deeper nesting!!!
DeleteI was going to write, "First!", but then you had to go and test it out.

ReplyDeleteI do prefer blogspot to discord. Thanks. Back to lurking 99% of the time. ;)
